Through educational and outreach programming, Dobama Theatre nurtures
the development of theatre artists and builds new audiences for the arts while
provoking an examination of our contemporary world. Cook Theatre Design, LLC created production props for Ella Enchanted The Musical.
Progressive Perspectives Theatrical's mission is to promote social organization and advancement through educating communities on the impact of traumatic experiences on human behavior in the social environment. Cook Theatre Designs, LLC designed and constructed the set for the debut performance of Silentious Scream.
Founded in 2014, Cleveland Musical Theatre was created in response to the community's need to develop and experience challenging, ground-breaking musical theatre works while educating young talent to succeed in this competitive environment. Cook Theatre Designs, LLC served as property designer for the August 2018 revised world premiere of Jane Eyre in Cleveland, Ohio.
Cook Theatre Designs, LLC served as property and costume designer for Barber of Seville and Wardrobe Head for both Madame Butterfly and Barber. CTD has also assisted in opera outreach programming through costuming performances.
Spark Theatre 4 Youth is a growing theatre company serving the Lorain County area. Providing in school anti-bullying assemblies and after school theatre instruction. Cook Theatre Designs, LLC has been a positive part of the growth by providing education, set design and building to the non-profit organization.
Cook Theatre Designs, LLC has had the privilege of designing several projects for Norwalk St Paul High school. Including the set for the Spring Musical and other special projects.
Each Summer, Terra State College hosts Kids College. A week long education camp for students in gr 1- 6. Cook Theatre designs, LLC provided classes in instument making, costume design, woodshop and acting during the week.
Cook Theatre Designs, LLC has provided HUCMS with a wide range of design services. Including costume, set and prop design for several youth musical theatre ventures.
Cook Theatre Designs, LLC has designed sets, props and costumes for many main stage production for the University.
ABOUT VANESSA COOK
A Lifetime of Creativity
Vanessa Cook is the Owner/Designer of Cook Theatre Designs, LLC. She completed her Bachelor of Music at Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory with a degree in Music Therapy. A graduate of Regent University Ms. Cook holds a Master of Arts in Theater.
She has participated in theater both onstage and off stage. Ms. Cook has extensive experience in the theater arts, beginning at the Tiffin Ritz Theatre as a child. She has over 20 years of experience in all facets of theater production and performance, working extensively in costume, set and prop design at the college, community and professional levels.

Her love of music and theater has been fueled with the opportunity to sing as cantor in several churches in the Cleveland area and St Joseph Church in Tiffin. She has been a member of the Heidelberg University Community Chorus, and freelances as a vocalist for weddings and other celebrations. Her on stage appearances have included productions with the Stow players (Nunsense Jamboree) and Ritz Players (The Music Man, Messiah on the Frigidaire).

She is the past secretary of Berg Bravo! and was active with the musical theater program for Heidelberg University's Community Music School, as costume and set designer. Ms Cook costumed eight different music theater productions with the program.
She is the former Technical Director of Gundlach theater and served as adjunct professor for the University's School of Music and Theater. Ms Cook taught stagecraft, makeup and music therapy classes and designed both costumes and sets/props for several main stage productions.

As a teaching artist, Ms Cook has several years of experience. She has taught at the University level and in the primary public/private school setting. She has provided presentations on technical theater for several organizations.
​
She has had the pleasure of working professionally with a number of Cleveland and Akron based theater companies. Please view her gallery for more information and images of her work.

Cook Theatre Designs, LLC is available for freelance work in the areas of costume, property, set design and construction. Ms Cook is available for lectures and workshops.
